  • THE BENEFIT OF KINDOM GIVING: VOL.I

    "Giving Produces Increase" Pt.6

A seed produces after it's on kind.

God has set in motion a process whereby the vegetable and fruit kindoms can reproduce seeds. However, He created both the fruit and vegetable seed to produce after it's own kind.

    Genesis 1:11-12,

    (11) Then God said, "Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb that yields seed, and the fruit tree that yields fruit according to its kind, whose seed is in itself, on the earth" and it was so.

    (12) And the earth brought forth grass, the herb that yields seed according to its kind, and the tree that yields fruit, whose seed is in itself according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.

Note: We see here that God created a seed to produce after its own kind. Each seed maintains its own unique characteristics. With this in mind, we need to understand that this principle is an established law, that applies to all seed, including financial seed. The seed that we sow, rather it be vegetable, fruit or financial, will produce a harvest of its own kind.

Whatever we sow is what we will reap. Galatians 6:7-8,

    (7) Paul said, "Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows that he will also reap.

    (8) "For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life."

Note: Here, Paul pointed out to us that whatever seed we sow, it is of that same seed that will we reap. Although the topic here is referring to the results of obeying God or the flesh. The principle that is  involved here, of reaping the same type of harvest as the the seed which was sown, is the same principle applied to the vegetable and fruit kingdoms, and every other area of our lives.

When we yield to our flesh we receive the consequences of that seed, and when we yield to God we receive the consequences of that seed. The same principle applies in the vegetable, fruit and financial fields.

Example: If we planted okra seeds, we wouldn't expect a harvest of spinach, or if we planted orange seeds, we wouldn't expect a harvest of lemons. Well the same principle applies to our finances, if we sowed money, we wouldn't expect a harvest of time. No, what we would expect is a harvest of money. Listen, when we sow money we get money and when we sow time we get time, for a seed produces after its own kind.

"Stay encouraged in your love walk and you will be empowered in your faith walk." (Galatians 5:6)

  • THE BENEFIT OF KINGDOM GIVING: VOL. 1

    "Giving Produces Increase" Pt.5

God provides the seed and the harvest, cont.

    2 Corinthians 9:8, 10-15,

God provides the seed and He increases the harvest.

    (10) Now may He Who supplies seed to the sower, and bread for food, supply and multiply the seed you have sown and increase the fruits of your righteousness,

    (11) while you are enriched in everything for all liberality, which causes thanksgiving through us to God.

Note: Paul encouraged us here, by informing us, that God provides the seed to sow, and He increase the fruit of the seed sown

Verse 10 in the Amplified Bible reads, "And [God] Who provides seed for the sower and bread for eating will also provide and multiply your [resources for] sowing and increase the fruits of your righteousness [which manifests itself in active goodness, kindness, and charity]."

Note, cont. Paul used the illustration of planting seeds to explain that the resources that God gives us are not to be hidden, foolishly devoured, or thrown away. Instead, we are to invest the resources that God gives us. When we invest what God has given us into His work, He provides us with even more to give in His service.

Two great things happens as a result of our giving, those in need are helped and God receives thanksgiving and the glory for it.

    (12) For the adminstration of this service not only supplies the needs of the saints, but also is abounding through many thanksgivings to God,

    (13) while, through the proof of this ministry, (the ministry of giving), they glorify God for the obedience of your confession to the gospel of Christ, and for your liberal sharing with them and all men,

    (14) and by their prayer for you, who long for you because of the exceeding grace of God in you.

    (15) Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift.

Note: First of all, God's indescribable gift is His Son Jesus Christ.

Paul summarized his teaching here, on sowing and reaping, by comparing our act of giving, with what God did in giving Jesus Christ. God sowed His Son and reaped a vast harvest of those of us who put our faith in Christ's death and resurrection. The comparison makes it possible for you and I, as believers to joyfully, sacrificially, and abundantly sow and reap. Our gifts can never compare to God's sacrifice for us, however, God is loving and generous that as we bless others, He blesses us.

Listen, we must make sure that we give God our best for He has given His best, Jesus Christ, His Son.

  • THE BENEFIT OF KINGDOM GIVING: VOL. 1

    "Giving Produces Increase" Pt.4

God is the provider of the seed and the harvest.

    2 Corinthians 9:8, 10-15,

Note: Some people may hesitate to give to the Kingdom of God if they are concerned or worried about having enough money left over to meet their own needs. Therefore, it is necessary and very important that we understand and know in our hearts that, God is our provider, (Philippians 4:19), and our source,  and that everything and everyone else is a resource that He provides through.

God provides us with all sufficiency in all things.

    (8) And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work.

Note: God possesses an unlimited supply of grace, and He gives it lavishly, without holding back. The word grace here, comes from a Greek word (charis) that refers to benefit. The benefit or benefits that Paul referred to here, includes favor and material things.

The Amplified Bible reads, (v.8) And God is able to make all grace (every favor and earthly blessing) come to you in abundance, so that you may always and under all circumstances and whatever the need be [possessing enough to require no aid or support and furnished in abundance for every good work and charitable donation].

Note: Earthly blessing refers to material things. We don't have to worry about not having enough for our own needs, for God shall make sure that there will not only be enough for us, but also, plenty left over for others as well.

The Living Bible reads, (v.8) God is able to make it up to you by giving you everything you need and more, so that there will not only be enough for your own needs, but plenty left over to give joyfully to others.

Note: When we give God returns to us abundantly, so that we may have an abundance, not only for our own needs but also for the variety of needs that others may have.

  • THE BENEFIT OF KINGDOM GIVING, VOL. 1

    "Giving Produces Increase" Pt.3

The size of the harvest is determined by the size of the seed, cont.

Generous giving produces generous increase.  Proverbs 11:24-25,

    (24) There is one who scatters, yet increases more; and there is one who withholds more than is right, but it leads to poverty.

    (25) The generous soul will be made rich, and he who waters will also be watered himself.

Note: The principle here is, generosity secures increase, while stinginess leads to poverty.

This is food for thought: I recognize that there are people who have quite of bit of money and are stingy. Their money is not a guarantee that poverty doesn't exist with them. Let me explain.

Poverty is a way of thinking, it's a mind set.

Proverbs 23:7 says, "For as he thinks in his heart so is he"

To really enjoy wealth we need to have a wealthy mind set.

3 John 2 reads, "Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers."

Note: The word soul  refers to the mind, (the thinker) will, (the chooser) and emotions, (the feeler). Here we see that how we think about wealth is the prerequisite (what comes first) to the manifestation of wealth in our lives.

A lot of people who have money are still living in poverty, because they are in fear of losing the money they have. Things that they could be enjoying, they are not because they are afraid of not being able to get more money. This type of thinking will cause folk to live a poverty lifestyle. Poverty is a mind set. Not having any money is a temporary condition for a season that can be changed. There are people who have the right mind set concerning  wealth but  do not have ready cash. But because of their mind set toward wealth they are prosperous in their thinking which is the prerequisite to manifestation. Now a person who has a weathy mind set with wealth will live a wealthy livestyle. (This is just something to make you think, food for thought).

Lets get back to our point of "generous giving produces generous increase"

The world says to hold on to as much as possible, but God blesses those of us who give freely of our possessions and time. Please understand that Kingdom giving works like this; When we give God supplies us with more so that we can give more.

Luke 6:38 Jesus said, "Give and it will be given to you; good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bossom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you."

Note: The illustration of good measure that Jesus used here, comes from the market places of old. In the market places of old, grain was poured out and shaken down, and then filled to overflowing, so that the buyer received the full amount purchased. Such is the full measure that will be returned to those of us who have been generous.

  • THE BENEFIT OF KINGDOM GIVING VOL. 1

    "Giving Produces Increase" Pt.2

The size of the harvest is determined by the size of the seed.

If we sow small we reap small, if we sow big we reap big.

2 Corinthians 9:6, Paul said, "But this I say: 'He who sows sparingly, will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully."

Note: Paul expressed here, that the harvest we receive is directly proportionate to the amount of seed sown.

The word sparingly in this verse comes from a Greek word (pheidomenos) that refers to giving stingily. To give stingily is to behave like a miser. A miser is one who hoards up everything, selfishly. The real root of stinginess is selfishness. It is to be concerned only about oneself.

The word bountifully here comes from a Greek word(eulogia) that gives us the word blessing. When we generously give, in faith, with a desire to produce the greatest possible blessing, we will receive that same kind of a harvest blessing.

God gives us a return on the amount that we invest with Him. Invest a little, receive a little. invest much and receive much.

Living Bible reads, "But remember this, if you give little, you will get little. A farmer who plants just a few seeds will get only a small crop, but if he plants much, he will reap much."

Note: Giving is compared to the principle that a farmer operates by. When a farmer sows a seed, the more seed he plants the bigger his harvest. The more we give the more we receive.

"Stay encouraged in your love walk and you will be empowered in your faith walk." [Galatians 5:6]

Invitation

If you do not have a personal relationship with God and would like one, or if you are just not sure where you will end up in eternity, follow these instructions. 1)Recognize and admit that you are a sinner, (Psalm 51:5). 2)Confess Jesus as Lord, (Romans 10:9-10). You may use this prayer as a guideline: Father, in the name of Jesus, I recognize and admit that I am a sinner. I repent of all my sins, and I turn away from sin, to You. I confess with my mouth that Jesus is Lord, and I believe in my heart that You raised Him from the dead. Lord Jesus, I invite You to come into my life and fill me with Your Holy Spirit. I thank You that I am saved. Now, find a Bible believing, Bible teaching church where you can learn and grow, (Ephesians 4:11-16). If you write to us using the information at the right hand top of the page, we will send you some material to help you learn and grow in your relationship with God. If you are in the Bradenton area, we invite you to visit us at our home church. F.I.C.C. Word Of Faith 7409 Manatee ave W. Bradenton 34209 web-www.ficcwordchurch.org
