  • SPIRITUAL WARFARE: VOLUME I

"We are Victors, not Victims" Pt.1

Through faith in Christ, we are victors, not victims:

A lot times because of the negative circumstances, the pressures of life, and the pressures of the world, that may be knocking at our door; we may feel as though we are victims and not victors. Well we want to encourage you, by telling you that through Christ Jesus, we are victors and not victims.

A victim is defined as one who is sacrificed or destroyed under any various conditions. A victim is one who loses.

A victor is defined as one who has overcome or defeated an adversary. A victor is a conqueror. A victor is one who wins.

Faith in Christ causes us to be victors and not victims.

Through our faith in Christ we are overcomers.

I John 5:4-5, "For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world, our faith. "Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God."

Note: Here, John clearly defined who the victors or overcomers are, and that is, those of us who believe that Jesus is the Son of God, and all that Jesus being the Son of God encompasses.

The word overcome here comes from a Greek word [nikao] that means to conquer, and to have victory. It literally means to have superiority that leads to overwhelming success. Overwhelming success refers to overpowering success, the kind of success that is achieved with superior force. Superior force is the kind of force or power that renders the opposition useless. This is the power that we have available to us, through Christ Jesus.

The word world used in these verses is not referring to physical or material things but, to satan's system of deception and wickedness, that he uses to deceive and destroy people with. John said here that, those of us who believe that Jesus is the Son of God, those of us who has faith in Christ, are victors, conquerors, and overcomers of this demonic system.

God has empowerd us to live a victorious life.

II Peter 1:2-4 "Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord, "as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him Who called us by glory and virtue, "by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust."

Note cont: The power to lead a godly life comes from God. God allows us to share in His divine nature in order to keep us from sin and to help us live for Him. When we are born again, God by His Spirit empowers us to overcome the enemy's demonic system that he uses to trap people for his service.

Through our faith in Christ we are victors.

"Stay encouraged in your love walk and you will be empowered in your faith walk" [Galatians 5:6]

"We are Victors, not Victims" Pt.2

Through faith in Christ, we are victors, not victims, cont:

Through faith in Christ,  (Abba Father) Daddy God, causes us to be victorious.

I Corinthians 15:57, Paul said, "But thanks be to God, Who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ."

II Corinthians 2:14, Paul said, "Now thanks be to God Who always leads us in triump in Christ."

Note: Through our faith in Christ, God causes us to experience the victory that Christ's sacrifice has provided.

Christ has overcome the world, (satan's demonic system, that he uses to trap people for his service), and because of our union with Christ, through faith, we are partakers of His victory.

John 16:33 Jesus said, "These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world."

Note: Jesus encouraged us here to be of good cheer, or not to be afraid, because, He has overcome or we can say,  He has defeated the world, satan's demonic system. Jesus has rendered satan's demonic system powerless against us.

Amplified Bible reads, "I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have [perfect] peace and confidence. In the world you have tribulation and trials and distress and frustration; but be of good cheer [take courage; be confident, certain, undaunted]! For I have overcome the world. [I have deprived it of power to harm you and have conquered it for you.]"

Note: Christ has won the victory through His death and resurrection; He has defeated satan and his army of demons. [Colossians 2:14-15] Because we have made the decision to trust Christ, the victory that He has achieved, we are partakers of it. We are victors as well.

Confession: say this, "I am a victor, not a victim"

"Stay encouraged in your love walk and you will be empowered in your faith walk" [Galatians 5:6]

"We are Victors, not Victims" Pt.3

We are more than conquerors: Romans 8:31-39,

Through our faith in Christ Jesus, we are more than conquerors.

    (31) "What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?

Note: Paul asked the question; if God is for us who can be against us? The phrase "If God is for us" is better translated, "since God is for us." Since God has done everything from a foreknowledge, we know that He is for us. Therefore, we really don't have the ask the question, if God is for us who can be against?

Paul operating under the influence of the wisdom of God, answers his question here, with a question.

    (32) "He Who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?

Note: Paul's question here, answered his question in verse 31, by asking, since God has done the greatest thing by giving us His Son, as a sacrifice for us, will He not through His Son freely give us all things? If Father God did not withhold His Son Jesus back from us, He want withhold the things we need to live for Him.

Food for thought; If God was to, withhold what we needed to live for Him, He would be placing more value on the that which we need to live for Him, than, His own Son, Jesus Christ. He didn't withhold Jesus from us, therefore if He He withheld something that we needed to live for Him, that thing would become more valuable than Jesus' life. Well, we know that isn't true. God loves His Son Jesus very much. [Matthew 3:17, John 17:23] Jesus is more valuable to Him than any material thing. We are more valuable to God than any material thing, the evidence is, that Father God sent Jesus to be sacrificed in our place. Since God did not withhold His Son from being sacrificed for us, we can be assured that, Father God, will not withhold anything we need to live for Him. We just have to apropriate His promises for ourselves, by faith. [Hebrews 6:12] God loves us, and because of His love for us, He will not withhold that which we need to live for Him.

Confession: say this, "God loves me, no good thing will He withhold from me." [Psalm 84:11]

"We are Victors, not Victims" Pt.4

We are more than conquerors, cont: Romans 8:31-39,

Sometimes, we as people, because we are looking to be validated by others, we allow the opinions and judgments of others to cause us to develop a victim's mentality. In other words, we allow what others say to cause us to think and behave like a victim. To avoid allowing the opinions of others to put us in bondage, we have to recognize that, God is the One Who determines who we are and what we are not. He is the Supreme Judge Who has justified us; therefore, no one else has the right or even the authority to condemn us, or to judge our worth and value.

    (33) "Who shall bring a charge against God's elect? It is God Who justifies.

    (34) "Who is he who condemns? It is Christ Who died, and furhtermore is also risen, Who is even at the right hand of God, Who also makes intercession for us."

Note: Paul revealed to us here that, God is the One Who judges, and that, He is the One Who declares us righteous. Therefore, no one has the right or the authority to judge us , to condemn us, or to determine our value. Don't let people's opinion or judgmental attitude, cause you to feel condemned, thereby, causing you to think and behave like a victim.

Remember, who we are is not based on the world's opinion, but, on our relationship with God. Our identity comes from God, and God calls us His Children. [I John 3:1]

Confession: say this, "I am a Child of God, therefore, I am a victor and not a victim"

"Stay encouraged in your love walk and you will be empowered in your faith walk" [Galatians 5:6]

  • SPIRITUAL WARFARE, VOLUME I

"We Are Victors, Not Victims" Pt.5

We are more than conquerors, cont. Romans 8:31-39,

Paul goes on to say that when we are faced with difficulties, we are not to allow the difficulties to separate us from the love of God.

    (35) Paul said, "Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?

Note: Paul using questions here, is reaffirming God's love for us, and he is saying to those of us who believe in Christ, that, there is no amount of suffering or affliction that we may experience that, should drive us away from God. In other words, there is nothing that we may face or go through that, should cause us to separate ourselves from the love of God. Notice, I said, that, we shouldn't separate ourselves from the love of God. God never removes His love from us, it is us who removes ourselves from His love. Instead of  allowing difficulties to cause us to move away from the love of God,  why not use them as a launching pad to grow closer to Him.

Now, the list of experiences that Paul mentioned here was not just theory to him, but rather, they were a personal testimony of one who had survived these experiences, and emerged victorious. [II Corinthians 11:23-27] Trials and difficulties should not cause us to separate ourselves from Christ, they should cause us to move closer to Him.

We appologize for the gap in the teaching. We had some technical difficulties, that have now been corrected, We appreciate all you who read the teachings and comment on them as well. We really hope that the teachings that we post are an encouragement and an inspiration to you, as you develop in your relationship with God.

"Stay encouraged in your love walk and you will be empowered in your faith walk" (Galatians 5:6)

Invitation

If you do not have a personal relationship with God and would like one, or if you are just not sure where you will end up in eternity, follow these instructions. 1)Recognize and admit that you are a sinner, (Psalm 51:5). 2)Confess Jesus as Lord, (Romans 10:9-10). You may use this prayer as a guideline: Father, in the name of Jesus, I recognize and admit that I am a sinner. I repent of all my sins, and I turn away from sin, to You. I confess with my mouth that Jesus is Lord, and I believe in my heart that You raised Him from the dead. Lord Jesus, I invite You to come into my life and fill me with Your Holy Spirit. I thank You that I am saved. Now, find a Bible believing, Bible teaching church where you can learn and grow, (Ephesians 4:11-16). If you write to us using the information at the right hand top of the page, we will send you some material to help you learn and grow in your relationship with God. If you are in the Bradenton area, we invite you to visit us at our home church. F.I.C.C. Word Of Faith 7409 Manatee ave W. Bradenton 34209 web-www.ficcwordchurch.org
